Troubleshooting Pressure Sensitive Tape Application Problems |
If the tape overlap is too long, the following adjustment should solve the problem: |
A. Make sure the knife blade height is adjusted properly. It should be set approximately 1/4" below the knife arm (figure 14 |
B. To decrease the tape length over the leading edge of the package, move the knife guides (#1) towards the direction of the arrow in figure 15. To do this, loosen the four screws (#2) on the guide assembly as shown. (Left = 3", Middle = 2 5/8". Right = 2 3/8") |
C. To decrease the tape length over the trailing edge of the package, move the knife assembly (#2) in the direction of the arrow in figure 16. To do this, loosen the four screws (#2) on the assembly as shown. (Left = 3". Middle = 2 5/18", Right = 2 3/8") |
If the tape overlap is too short, the following adjustment should solve the problem: |
A. Make sure the knife blade height is adjusted properly. It should be set approximately 1/4" below the knife arm, figure 17. |
B. To increase the tape length over the leading edge of the package, move the knife guides (#1) towards the direction of the arrow in figure 18. To do this, loosen the four screws (#2) on the guide assembly as shown. (Left = 3", Middle = 2 5/8", Right = 2 3/8") |
C To increase the tape length over the trailing edge of the package, move the knife assembly (#1) towards the direction of the arrow in figure 19. To do this, loosen the four screws on the assembly. (Left = 3", Middle = 2 5/8", Right = 2 3/8") |
D. Make sure tape is threaded through the dispenser as the diagram shows (figure 20). |
