Troubleshooting Pressure Sensitive Tape Application Problems

TAPE WRAPPING AROUND APPLICATOR ROLLER

1.          If the tape wraps around the applicator roller (figure 24), the cause is usually that the roller is allowed to spin freely without the spring slowing it down. If this is the case, disassemble and replace the nylon washer and spring, items #6 & #7 figure 25.

2.          If the spring mounted between the applicator roller and frame exerts too much pressure on the applicator roller (figure 25), it will cause the roller not to rotate properly. As a result, inconsistent taping will occur. Solution - disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble the applicator roller.
